Sixth Form are on their way to Uganda! - 11.7.2006
As part of their preparations for their summer expedition to Uganda students and staff have just taken part in a highly successful weekend in Scotland. There were two tasks for the team: to construct a scaled down version of the planned new Primary School for the people of Kitwanga and to fund raise. I am delighted to announce that the practice build was completed to a high standard and that over £1000 was raised at the garden party.
The visitors (including two architects) were very impressed by the construction work and the presentation given by students to explain the Uganda Primary School project. Our young people were a credit to the school and I would like to thank them for their hard work and enthusiasm. We are also extremely grateful to Mr Cutter (who is the father of Matthew Cutter one of the Sixth Formers who is travelling to Uganda in the Summer) for sharing his building knowledge with us.
Fundraising update: We have just topped £10,000!!! Our estimated costs for the expedition are currently £13,000.
