We are proud and delighted to report that Laura Moses (Year 10) was selected to represent the City of Sunderland at the Norwich Union Sports Athletics Tyne and Wear County Final held on Saturday 16th December 2006.  In 2005 Laura made the reserve team, so this was great progress for her. 

 

Recently Laura won the bronze medal for her 60m sprint in the Winter Indoor Grand Prix Series for young Athletes at Monkton Stadium, Jarrow in a brilliant time of 8.4 seconds. Again this is an improvement on her performance in the November competition when she achieved 4th place with a time of 9.0 seconds.

 

Laura was also awarded Most Promising Newcomer (Girls) and Bronze Performance Award from Houghton and Peterlee Athletics Club last month.

 

We congratulate Laura for her athletics prowess and look forward to her breaking some school records at this summer’s Sports Day.
