Why Grindon Hall? - Our Success

Our vision is to 'reflect the love of God to children through education'.  Love involves care and compassion and seeks the best for the other person.   Love also involves order and discipline.  The school has built up an enviable reputation in all these areas and has grown very rapidly: indeed, we have become one of the fastest growing independent schools in the UK.  Despite this expansion, we still maintain very small class sizes.

There are many reasons for our growth, but one of the most significant is that we preserve extremely high standards of behaviour and discipline.  Some would call that 'old fashioned'.  If by that they mean that we maintain values of respect, courtesy, honesty, excellence and wholesomeness - then we are happy to be called old fashioned.  It appears that many parents are very happy with that too.

We realise that your child's education is important to you.  At the end of the term pupils will receive a full end of term report with addtional reports being sent out at the end of each half term for pupils in years 9-13.

Although there will be regular Parents Evenings throughout the year, Form and subject teachers are available to talk about the progress or problems that your child may experience as often as you need.  Appointments can be made through the school office.

In 2007 we said good bye to our first cohort of Sixth Form students all of whom had secured university places including Cambridge University.

In 2006 we held our first Awards Evening at the Sage, Gateshead.  The event is an enjoyable evening for both Primary and Senior pupils, with awards being presented for a range of acheivements. In the Primary section awards include 'working hard all year', 'academic achievement', 'consistent effort and improvement throughout the year'.  In the Senior section subject, sport and sixth form awards are presented.  There are also a number of School Awards presented to pupils who have demonstrated for example Commitment to Service, Spiritual Development, Sporting Excellence and Courtesy, good manners and a caring attitude towards others.
